Data #8: Spring 2011 ATEC/EMAC Showcase!

In late March, I interviewed Desmond Blair, the coordinator for the upcoming Spring 2011 ATEC (Arts and Techology) and EMAC (Emerging Media and Communications) Showcase.

ATEC/EMAC Showcase Information
Here are some important information about the showcase:

  • Date: April 20th, 2011
  • Time: 6:30pm
  • Location: Conference Center (campus map)

Summary of the Interview
The ATEC and EMAC Showcase can give an inside look on what the two programs are about. It is also a great opportunity for students to do many activities! Here are some reasons why you should go to the showcase:

  • You can meet with new people and start networking with them.
  • You can get inspired to see awesome works that other students have made.
  • You can get some ideas on what kind of works is expected in your portfolio.
  • You can get some idea in what future classes you may want to take.
  • If your very own work is in the showcase, you get to have some bragging rights and let people be amazed by your skills.
  • You may also get some feedback on how you can improve your work.
  • You may even end up meeting people from actual companies (and maybe get hired for an internship or a job)!
  • You can come just to have fun!

Students and instructors will attend this event. There will be speakers, game demos, and refreshments. Come and see the works that the ATEC and EMAC students have created and the achievements they have made!

I went to the ATEC Showcase the other day! It was pretty great, except for the power outs on the game demo computers. I’ve been sitting here trying to figure out a way to attach the actual Showcase videos on here to share with the others. I will leave that up to you Susan. 🙂 Anyway, great interview with Desmond, if anyone is interested you should check him out on Youtube. He has some pretty interesting videos. Also the video that Texas Scottish Rite Hospital did about him is pretty great too.
